Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a community-based approach to assist families with children who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity to build patterns and enhance skills that will create sustainable independence.
We're seeking to directly help the 1724 school age children and their families that are homeless in the Lehigh Valley according to the 2021-2022 PA Department of Education. We provide security, stability, and support in a judgment-free environment that recognizes that at any point, any one of us could be in their shoes. Our goal is to drive those numbers down to zero!
As an Affiliate of Family Promise, we are a part of a program that has helped over 50,000 people annually.
Almost 200,000 volunteers annually give of time and resources to this proven program.
More than 74% of the families utilizing this program find stable housing after 6 to 8 weeks.
Family Promise of Lehigh Valley seeks to provide assistance to homeless children and families by providing safe lodging, meals, and comprehensive support services so that the family can obtain sustainable housing and financial security.
Our host and support congregations along with our sponsors provide the needed resources to help Lehigh Valley families.
Family Promise cannot run without the effective help of our volunteers, our host and support groups, and sponsor and partner organizations in the community. There are extensive opportunities available for individuals, faith-based organizations, businesses and community groups to participate with us and help us reach our goals of eradicating homelessness in the Lehigh Valley.
